: How can I get my dad to let me play video games?
My mom doesn’t really care, it’s just my member of the clergy. He has this notion that it’s going to rot my brain or something because my brother was so addicted to them that he didn’t even apply for one scholarship to go to collage. Well, my brother is just a slacker naturally, I’m only in 7th grade, plus I have a 4.0 GPA! I used to be capable to play but when I questioned my mom to take me to Gamestop, he was like, “No, Sabrina, in detail, you’re not allowed to play ANY video games.” Where did that come from?!? I have no clue why, and I don’t reckon it’s honest. It couldn’t be because it’s going to take up all my time, because I’m taking guitar and Japanese lessons, plus I’m on the Knowledge Bowl team, I’m head of the Baking Club, and I’m VP for the Manga/Anime Club. All I want is to be capable to play a small bit in my free time!!! To delight in myself!!! But how can I get my dad to let me?

This might probably be the last thing you might want to hear, but your dad might have a point.
Before you violently close the browser and throw away the computer, hear me out, because its not all terrible.
Video games DO cause grades to drop. You, unlike 95% of school age children (including myself), seem to be doing pretty well already.
You seem like a average toddler, except for the baking club. Negociate with your dad. You can tell him:
If you let me buy (insert name of video game here) i will get all when
Get me (insert video game) and i will do my chores
I like you dad. (insert sentimental comment here). Can we go to gamestop.

I really really really really promise my grades WILL NOT drop. Can i have my game pretty pretty please.
